Youth Counselling
It is definitely challenging to be a teenager, as well as to be the parent of a teenager!
Social media and continuous access to information and social connection have invariably led to greater unhealthy comparisons of ourselves versus what is considered 'normal' or 'beautiful'. As if bullying was not enough, we have a terrible tendency to berate ourselves for our differences and inability to meet these impossible standards.

It is not surprising that mental health struggles are increasing as more of our young people struggle with anxiety, depression, fear, anger and hopelessness.

If you (or if you are a parent - your teenager) is struggling with anxiety or depression, self-harming, acting out or engaging in risky behaviour, grief, gender identity, or sexuality, I can help.

Together we can explore the cause of the thoughts, feelings and behaviours while working on self-regulation and emotional intelligence. Once we know the cause, we can work together using a variety of strategies and techniques to ensure that you (or they) feel heard, understood, loved, and accepted.

I welcome youth who are neurodiverse and/or identify as LGBTQIA+.
